It’s very clear that we’re living in interesting times right now (to say the least). Staying active has become a challenge as gyms and health studios have been ordered to shut their doors yet again. This has impacted many of us working in the fitness industry, as members become less willing or able to spend time at the gym. This shift impacts many individuals, as they seek alternative ways to work out from home, to reduce the spread of the virus.

What does this mean for personal trainers? Now is the time to find ways to stay connected and engaged with members outside the gym, in order to ensure no business is lost. The great news is that we live in a time where we have access to so many accessible tools that make it much easier to get creative!

So with that being said, here are some tips trainers can try out to stay connected with their clients during the pandemic…

1. Embrace the virtual workout trend.

It’s important to give your members access to more content, so it’s easier for them to exercise from home. It can be as simple as downloading ZOOM, or going on social media and creating live workouts. Having these live streams can be a great way to stay engaged with your members, and show them how much you care about their health, all while keeping them motivated.

You can also record your workouts in advance and post them on Instagram, Facebook, or Youtube for your members to refer to later on. Virtual workouts are the future of the fitness industry, so get on the bandwagon today!

2. Staying consistent is essential.

There should be consistency in both the type of content you’re creating and how frequently you’re posting it! To stay connected with your audience and be reliable as a trainer, you need to make sure that you’re posting and engaging constantly while staying up to date.

Having a consistent schedule of when you post and sticking to it will really set a quality standard for your audience, so they always know what to expect from you and slowly rely on that from you. Studies have shown that followers react best when they know how many posts to expect from your account, whether that is 1 post a week or 10 posts a day! Consistency equals reliability which equals growth.

3. Create challenges and workout programs.

Another important key aspect is to continue holding your clients accountable. Hosting challenges while building a community can be really motivating for your members, and may also be done relatively easily and quickly. This creates healthy competition for your clients, which can be a useful tool for keeping them on track.

We’re social creatures, and that’s something that many gym members appreciate and miss about their studio, so building your community online (Facebook, Whatsapp, Instagram) will help everyone bond, connect, and get to know each other on a more personal level. Creating an interactive relationship with your community during these lonely times is a great way to add value to the digital experience!

4. Book a Silo.

At Silofit we have a network of fully private fitness studios, located all over the city that you can book by the hour, using our app. All our Silos are fully equipped and are cleaned between every session. We’ve put extensive health and safety measures in place to ensure a safe and secure environment for everyone. Our Silos have everything you need for a one-on-one training session with your client. And, we recently opened a SiloHub, which is your ultimate consultation and content creation space. We provide your client with a full body composition analysis, collect all their health stats with the InBody machine, and provide an AI movement analysis. The SiloHub also offers a well-equipped studio with professional lighting and equipment. We encourage trainers to use the set to shoot content for social media, and to film live workouts for clients, all in high definition!

This provides amazing options for trainers to continue doing their work either in person or online, so download our app now and you’ll get all the information you need to get started!

A new year means new resolutions, many of which revolve around a healthier lifestyle. As a trainer, you have the ability to bring these resolutions to life and help make someone feel like the best version of themselves. That’s why we think there’s no better time to get on the virtual workout trend, challenge your clients, and book a Silo or SiloHub.

We truly hope that these tips help you in continuing to foster relationships with your clients and build your business. Let us know how it goes!
